Bibliografická citace Comparison of texts and images of Visitatio Sepulchri in the region of Northern Spain and Southern France in the Middle Ages [rukopis] : diplomová práce / Indrė Kuliešiūtė; vedoucí práce: Jan Royt. -- Praha, 2023. -- 47 s. Abstract The Bible tells of an event when several women meet one or two angels by the empty Tomb of Christ. Such motive in art is called the Holy Women at the Empty Tomb or sometimes the Three Maries at the Sepulchre. The goal of this thesis is to explore the connection between the images of this motive in the Southern France and Northern Spain to the Easter dialogues and liturgical plays that tell this story. The peculiarity in this region is the gestures of the angel and sometimes of the women: they are depicted in the action of lifting the lid of the sarcophagus to look inside. To my best knowledge, such an arrangement does not occur even once outside of this region. To achieve the goal of the thesis, the artworks and the drama texts from this region were surveyed. The artwork was analyzed, focusing mostly on the gestures of the figures, while the discussion of the drama texts focused mainly on the rubrics, instructing the performers what actions and how they are to carry out. This thesis argues that the greatest variety and originality of the artworks is where...

Stránská, Kateřina ; Šmied, Miroslav (advisor) ; Peroutková, Jana (referee)
Abstrack Jagellonian goldmongery The theme of Jagellonian goldmongery opens the subject issue of the second half of the 15th century to the first half of the 16th century, still overlapping deep into the Renaissance times. It is an art that, in many respects, was inspired by the pre-images from the Luxebourgish times, which had deeply influenced cultural happening in the country. Modern tendencies were adopted creating together with the earlier traditions a distinctive blend of transient art. Jagellonian jewels are mainly reliquiary busts of St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas and St. Adalbert. They are considered the preserved presciousness of the dome's treasure. On these a precious metal is carved and modelled according to a sculptural method. The notional peak is not represented by these works alone yet it is a collection of works from which we can compile an evolutionary line that enables us to view the period of the Jagellonian reign in our country. Keywords Jagellonian goldmongery, dome's treasure, reliquiary bust, Jagellonian Po et znak (v etn mezer): 116 940

Kolečková-Veselá, Jana ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šmied, Miroslav (referee)
This work explores architectural elements of the church of the St. Jiljí in Nymburk. It deals with their description and analysis and sorts them according to the stages of development of the church. The present state of the object results from the restauration made by K. Hilbert at the beginning of 20th century. As there is no newer literature dedicated to the restored church in Nymburk, I have focused above all on this period. In my work the restauration of the church is incorporated in the context of specific periods. The work mentions the reasons of the new interest in historical monuments in the middle of 19th century, the political situation in the town, the reforms of the Church and other circumstances which led to the realization of the project. I describe in details Hilbert's initial projects of the restauration of the church and the circumstances leading to the restauration. I also mention the development of the autor's views and the causes of the changes of the project, and the possible sources of inspiration of K. Hilbert and how he was influenced by medieval and modern art. On this example I show the application of the new theories in the care of historical monuments. This attitude helped K. Hilbert to become a creative artist and to increase the value of this historical monument by...
